The Daily 3

March 24, 2007

I’m not quite sure what made me want to play the Daily 3, but I figured in my quest to learn more about the Michigan Lottery, I should play all of what I can and see how the results are! The enticing price of winning for only 50 cents I decided I had to try it at least once! I convinced my friend to go halves with me, a Quarter each, but no change availed and we split a $1 ticket. Needless to say, we lost. The expense along with the odds of winning are a lot better! So many options to play and so many ways to win. I’ll be playing every possible way to get more indepth knowledge of the whole thing. To let you readers know the better ways to play! For the lowest wager of 50 cents, I can see this being a new possible addiction or favorite to play.

I didn’t win the Mega Millions but I’m having higher hopes of winning the Michigan Millionaire Raffle! I can smell the million already. If not, I can already see me with a new house for the 100,000 prize. Nothing to fancy, but a great starter house to be out on my own with my g/f and little baby. I do have a few things I was thinking about. It’s the fact that I’m not on a winning streak. I’m $22 in the hole for Mega Millions and won nothing. I spent $41 bucks in scratch and wins and I’ve only won $9. It’s kind of a shot in the foot when you think about it, but I’m starting to think that the big money is in the higher priced tickets. I’ve noticed that I’ve never won anything this year on a $1 ticket to date. I’ve never gone as far as venturing to buy a $20 ticket anytime soon. Even though I’ve spent $140 on 7 $20 Millionaire raffle tickets but not a scratch and win. Maybe one day I’ll have my way and fish out a 20 spot. Not until I get a job though, 20 bucks is a lot to spend on a scratch and win. I can’t afford to be that addicted right now. But my first paycheck, I’ll search one out and see what happens!

Plans to stretch the profits

March 17, 2007

Instead of sitting up bright and early to spit out the numbers last night after the drawing, I decided to sit back and think what I might do with the money I would win. The thought of early retirement is always exciting and the thought of starting up franchises and my own business is also in the plans. What kind of business’s would I open? Well I’m not what you call a business expert but I have enough common sense skills to not have the entire thing tank. My first and foremost favorite fun franchise would be to open a Chipotle restaurant in a high populated college area. They just put one up in Ann Arbor and I’ve been there twice within the first week of opening already. It’s always packed and I find myself either having to stand to eat with other people or take it all to my car and eat it there. Outside wasn’t an option since there’s no tables or no room for tables it looks like but the weather was a bit to cold the second time around. I would of loved to sit out on a bench the first time when the sun was perfect 72 degrees and not a cold breeze in sight.

Back to the franchise’s! Ok, Chipotle might be the only franchise I’d do but maybe start my own restaurant gimmick that I think’s great but won’t go into detail because it’s that awesome! But another business venture I’d love to go into is some kind of ad agency. At heart I’m a graphic designer and would love to run an ad agency from the ground up. Seems to far fetched since I can’t even get work as a graphic designer so that dreams going to pretty much live down in the toilet. Can always dream though right? Maybe start a few publication ideas I been having swimming in my mind. Then the ultimate idea, the video game bar. Something like a Buffalo Wild Wings but you can sit down and play some console games. The idea has many flaws and what not but loving the whole daily tournament aspects of the place where every day there’s tournaments going on with cash prizes! Entry fees of cash will win cash, if you go there to buy some grub and snackage and play the tournament you get a gift card to come back again. It’s an idea in the running.

On to the lottery!! As always I played the Mega Millions but still haven’t quite won it yet. All I can think of is just buying a house a car and….after that my mind pretty much goes blank other then a big screen TV and lots of video games and video game parties. Just a whole mess of fun and hanging out the rest of my life. But then again that’s not really going to happen, but I can always dream. Like I said before, I didn’t win the lottery, close with 2 balls though! I’m slowly climbing up with numbers. Here are those numbers!

Bigger Jackpot to the sound of 267 Million Dollars!

February 28, 2007

It’s a small hit on the inside everytime I wake up to find the numbers drawn didn’t match up to the big jackpot. Which I found the numbers at clickondetroit.com the local Channel 4 news station here in Detroit. I tried Fox 2 news at myfoxdetroit.com but didn’t care to search much for it due to hard to figure out, but I’m all about watching Fox 2 News first! Fox 2 Problem Solvers is a riot….anywho. That’s the last time i’ll ever spend multiple money on mega millions tickets. 5 tickets and out of the entire lot of 30 numbers on the ticket, all I got was a lousy white ball!! Insanity I tell ya!! Well that’s a lesson learned hard. Don’t get to caught up in the hype. It only takes one ticket to win it all. I’m tempted to spend more, but that’s just not in the budget right now for me unless there’s a kind soul out there to toss some money my way! OK, probably not, I tried. I’m so poe, I can’t afford the O or the R in the actually word poor. I just got the E on sale and hope everybody can pronounce it out.

HOWEVER, the best thing that came out of not winning again is of course NOBODY ELSE WON! That’s right! Nobody else won the 216 Million Dollar Jackpot last night! Not me, not nobody! That leads to the next lottery drawing on Friday, March 2nd, 2007 to determine who wins the next estimated jackpot of 267 Million Dollars! Will it be me? I sure hope so. I already have the plans drawn out like this:

Step 1: Staging House - Me being broke and not in my own house, I need one to make the staging plans. AKA, somewhere to stay to plan all my spending. Somewhere small in a quiet neighborhood where nobody will

Step 2: Spending Plans - Once at the main headquarters I will develop my spending plans. It may take weeks of planning to build my perfect house somewhere but I will do it one day and I’ll spend lots of time researching out different companies, interior design, yadda yadda. Not to mention all the stuff I’ll buy and play around with such as arcades, video games and DVDs for my viewing pleasure. Investing is also into the mix to guarantee I have money locked away somewhere that nobody can get too at all. Swiss bank account? Sounds like a nice little fund to keep stashed away.

Step 3: Car - There’s always has to be a car in the mix. I’ve been thinking about the Cadillac DTS but I’m also looking towards the Impala SS. Maybe a Suburban or Escalade for the SUV mix? I’m all about supporting the American car companies and I won’t be going balls out buying any foreign cars. It’s all about American Made

The simple 3 step plan that will lead to lots of rewards for a happy life of doing absolutely nothin. The basics of house, car and spending plans is all that a lottery winner really needs.

As a closing, I would like to wish everybody good luck in this Friday’s lottery. If anybody has any insight or thoughts about the lottery they play all the time, then I welcome the comments and thoughts from everybody. I would also like to let everybody know that thanks to the 216 million dollar jackpot on Tuesday I’ve been getting  a lot of visitors and have gotten number 65 on the growing list for WordPress.com. I know it’s just people searching around to find some info on the lottery, but I hope you all continue to check this blog out for my thoughts on the lottery. I would also like to say that in the spirit of the book, I plan on keeping it to the spending $1 and only taking $1. I decided that any extra would just throw the average point of buying only 1 everytime. Since Nothing won, Keeping it to only 1 and not making any changes.

Lottery Adventures - Gumball? Rally Race? My Saturn Ion with a V8?

February 17, 2007

As I sit here waiting for the winning numbers of tonights 130 mill lottery, I ponder what I could do with all that extra money to myself. Then an idea popped into my head the other day after I was watching a video on youtube about some guys that put a V8 into a ZX3 Focus. It sounded pretty bad ass to see such a little car produce such a muscle car like noise along with all the power coming from a little car. That gave me an idea that I been toying around with, turning my little ‘03 Saturn Ion into a fast car with a V8 producing all that power and noise. I admit, i’m not that mechanic saavy or car saavy, and the only thing I know is that muscle cars sound bad ass. I want that. I’ll have to see if I can do it myself, hire a few pros or friends to make it a project and advance to the next step. A rally race!!

What made me want to all of a sudden race in a rally? And what kind of rally race? Well I’m not sure if the term is considered right, but I was watching the show “Jackass” the other night, the episode where they run the gumball 3000 in Europe. I also bought the gumball DVD, a low quality documentary about the gumball 3000, but it was an interesting watch to say the least. All of it has got me to thinking that I want to do it. I want to put a V8 in my saturn and run a race here in America from New  York to Los Angelos. Does a race like this exsist? I’ve heard some say it does, some say it did and some say it never will happen.  But after looking around, I’m positive they exsist and I will join it!!! That or I’ll have to create one myself. That would be expensive and a lot of hassle, but I’m sure I could pull it off with the right people….right?

Well that’s all that’s on my mind as i’m waiting for those winning numbers!!

Michigan Mega Millions Continues

February 7, 2007

Like every morning on Wednesday, I tend to stay in bed just a little longer and imagine what I could buy with all the possible money I might have just won the previous night in the Tuesday drawing. This morning was early, rising up at 6:30am to take my girl to the hospital for her appointments. Well it was freezing, as usual this week. The cold didn’t take away my dreams for the possible win. As I was driving I kept imagining driving a nice luxury car that was heated up with heated seats and very roomy. I looked past my freezing ‘03 ion sedan’s coldness, as well as it’s frozen shut hood, and the salty dirt residue on my windshield. Of course I run out of fluid the day prior so I decided to put some in the next day. The next day being yesterday when my hood was frozen shut. So I rocked out with a bottle of windex and an old beach towel in the backseat. A new car. That’s my first priority when I win the lottery. I’m not even going to wait for the check to come in either, I’ll go straight to the dealer explain that I won the lottery and want a car. OK, that wont’ happen, I’ll have to wait until after I get the money to go to the dealer. Who wants to trust and unemployed person to buy some type of luxury car? A Caddy no less.

“Excuse me sir, i’m unemployed, have no money to my name. But I did just win the lottery and I haven’t cashed my check yet. May I buy one of your fine automobiles?”

Ya, it won’t work out that well, so I’ll have to take that one last final road trip with the old Ion up to Lansing…..ah hell, I’ll rock out with a limo to cash in my ticket. With style baby! Wasting money already before I get it, that’s how I’ll start it out.

I didn’t win the lottery, I checked it out today and saw that I had nothing. Notta. Zip. Zilch. Crap. I did however stop by a 7 eleven gas station to buy another mega millions ticket before I found out my misfortune. I also picked up a Cashword Doubler $2 ticket. Using my lucky Nickel that scratched the $5 winner, I scratched it off and found out that I won double what I won off my Mega Millions ticket. Nothing. That puts me in the negatives for scratch and wins. I think I’ll buy scratch and wins in bulk next time. Or at least in my favor. Odds to win were 1 in 4.86. Which means I’d need to purchase 5 tickets for an almost guaranteed chance of winning something. $10 for a chance to win $2. Doesn’t sound so far does it? O well, not that big of a deal I guess. I do still plan on doing an against the odds scratch and win, where I buy the odds, ie. if it’s 1 in 4.86, I round up and buy 5 tickets. I’ll also be trying the theory of spending $20 on a single type of ticket sometime soon as well to see how that goes.

Next big projected pot is 91 million dollars. Holy crap that’s a lot of money! It’s getting up there pretty fast. You gotta love the big pots like this, they just go up faster and faster by people hoping to win that big one.
