Moved in!

October 21, 2008

It’s been a while, but everything has came back and I’m officially moved into my new house and had the internet hooked up a few hours ago. I’ve bought my fair share of Classic and Mega Millions but haven’t won anything off that. I’ve also been approached to write for a website and actually be a paid blogger! That’s still all in the works, more details as they come along.

AS for now I’m sitting here thinking about November 5th. Some people may have went to be early and woke up excited to see who the new president is on November 5th, Is it Obama or McCain?  I’ll wake up excited for another reason. The drawing of the Super Raffle will be then! This could be the shot, this could be the one! I don’t mean for the 2 million, I mean for at least 100 bucks to more then double what I paid for the ticket, 45 bucks. There’s still 70k strong tickets left and at this rate I don’t think they’ll get rid of them all unless they do an unfair fire sale. Maybe they should cut the price in half. What does that mean? I believe that if it’s cut in price, they charge half the price, but only receive half the money. The other half would be raffled off for the first half of people giving them even MORE chances to win.

It’s all wishful thinking ideas, but either way I want to see people win 2 million dollars!

Tip for Lottery Money #6 – Craigslist it!

October 10, 2008

We all have crap we don’t! Let’s face it, if your house is a mess it’s probably because something is not being used and sitting around. That means that it’s time to craigslist it!! Here in Michigan it’s free to craigslist your crap and get some cash for it. Whats craigslist? It’s a free advertising website at www.craigslist.org and it allows you to post and view classified ads all free of charge. It’s like a poor mans ebay except you won’t get stiffed with some jerk claiming he never got your package when you know the bastard has it! No paypal fee’s screwing you over your hard earned cash.

I’ve never personally sold or bought anything off craigslist, but I’ve gone along with friends and I’ve sat and waited with friends for a craigslist customer to show up at their door step. So all in all it’s a pretty safe venture. Just post your ad on what you want to sell and for how much and hopefully someone answers your prayers and gives you money!

www.craigslist.org

Take a look and start selling your crap and cleaning out your closet. With this cash, you’ll be able to pick up a ticket.

Super Raffle updates

October 10, 2008

I’ve been keeping my eye on the Super Raffle and I can’t help but see the big sloppy mess that it has become. It’s sad in a way. We’ve all seen the Super Raffle going slow after it’s first go about, and it’s heading more towards dangerous waters. There is still an astounding 91,767 tickets left! The date has been set solid on November 5th, a and no doubt you’ll be seeing commercials whoring it out. Michigan looks like they big Super Raffle will be thrown out the window soon and I think it should, and here’s why

1.) Tickets are way to much

If you’ve bought a ticket before, you know that’s a big wad of cash to slam down for a chance to win any of it back. Yes, it’s the best odds, but there’s only so many times you can play and not win. If I were not much of a lottery player, you wouldn’t see me slap 50 bucks down for the 3rd time in hopes of winning.

2.) One Raffle is all you need

They alternate with the 1 million dollar Michigan Millionaire Raffle and the Super Raffle. One costs 20, the other 50. If you want to attract more people, make it just the Michigan Millionaire Raffle and charge 20 bucks. The top prize should be the 2 million dollar one and the odds of winning less prizes are taken away. The cost could be made up by selling more tickets.

3.) Make more prizes!

Everybody wants to be an instant millionaire, how about making a 20 dollar raffle with 1 prize of a million dollars and TONS of people winning smaller prizes. Such as 1 prize of 1 million and about 30,000 100 dollar prizes. Better odds to win 100! The tease? The one million would be tax free! Well I know there’s laws against that, but Michigan should offer up to pay the taxes and anything else to ensure that the winner indeed banks 1 million dollars. None of this, take a lump sum for half the cost or take it up the rear with taxes. One Million Dollars, no questions asked. This would be impossible cause the state wouldn’t want to cough up the taxes or let it slide.

4.) Less tickets please

We all know that the trouble with not doing the drawing is that they didn’t sell enough tickets. Even with the great discount, 5 bucks….ok it’s not great but if your shelling out a 50 spot, 5 bucks is enough to make you feel sort of good for buying a ticket. Anywho, make a Super Raffle with a 2 million dollar pay out, but less smaller prizes so they can lower the amount of tickets sold. It’s a thin line. Half the people want the 2 million, the other half want a chance to get something and would take winning double their money back.

These are just some ideas running through my head, nothing that needs to be done, but some ideas nonetheless. If Michigan continues with both raffles, it’s just going to hurt them. I’ve been saying it before, if the Raffles aren’t restructured SOMEHOW, I don’t see both staying in the game very long. I do see one staying in, and that would be the 20 dollar Michigan Millionaire Raffle.

New place, new chances?

October 10, 2008

As spoken before in a previous post, I’ve moved out of my current digs and have relocated closer to work life. Cleaning up the place before we officially move in, but it’s still going smoothly as planned. With the new move comes new locations for lottery tickets! I’ve bought lottery tickets from just about any place in a 5 mile radius of my current residency and haven’t won yet. If you haven’t kept up on previous blog spots, you know that I’ve traveled hours and miles to get a ticket for the big lottery winnings. The new set up of lottery places has me excited and hopeful! I’ve already started staking out some nearby locations that seem like they could be possible winners.

Here’s to a new life, a new location and a new chance to win big!

Super Raffle date changed!

October 6, 2008

In no doubt a ditch effort to save face and money, the Michigan lottery commission has changed the date from October 6th to November 5th.

This could lead to the possible super raffle downfall. I will keep you all up to date if the tickets get sold earlier

103,438 Left

October 5, 2008

That’s how many Super Raffle tickets are left as of this posting. The drawing originally slated for tomorrow has barely sold more then half of it’s original tickets. This spells disaster for the Super Raffle as we know it. The best chance to win the big bucks isn’t’ drawing the people in as they would thought. The tickets soared with the 5 dollar discount FAST, but after that it kind of just slowed to a crawl. I think that they may as well discontinue this type of raffle but keep the original Millionaire Raffle. The people in Michigan aren’t as excited about tossing 50 bucks or sometimes 20 for a chance to win big.

As for myself, I finally closed on a house the other day so I’ve been busy jumping through loops. I will also start to put stuff together as well as in terms of packing as well as other things.
