Finding random un-checked tickets

It’s always a pleasant surprise when your looking around for junk or cleaning up around your desk or closet and find that lottery ticket that you totally forgot to check. Whether it was because you placed it there for later because you bought it way early, or things fell and temporarily buried it. It’s always fun to remember a ticket that COULD be a winner. Usually if yoru like me, you have a system to make sure you didn’t already check the ticket. For me, I cross a diagonal line down the middle for losers, and I put the dollar amount down I won for the tickets that I got something. Then there’s the circles of numbers to indicate I got those numbers…which are scattered on losers and winners. But today I found about 4 tickets scattered on my desk that had no markings whatsoever. SCORE!! This means another chance to win!

Since I’m constant on what the jackpots are for every ticket I buy, I know that I didn’t win the big one. However, there are the small pots that could be worth up to $250,000 that I would never know about. Alas, none of these tickets were winners today. I still look back at the times I found tickets laying around that I got money off of and how future one’s could be the big winners. Hopefully in the future, they don’t get misplaced and I’ll know sooner then later.

Cashed in my winning tickets!

It finally came to that point where I cashed in all my winners over the past year! The grand total of…$67 in scratch and wins and ..lotto’s. ….wa wa waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. It’s a nice chunk of change to see after spending all that money on the hope and dreams. Seeing the money made me think what should my next lottery project be? What will I do for my next lottery venture? The ideas are still drumming and I’ll be looking forward to putting into a action quite a few plans. With that being said, I spent the money on groceries and for the first time used CASH instead of my debit card. It was quite a rush putting in those 20’s and not having to whip out a piece of plastic.

The Monday Morning Blues and Local man wins

Not so much the blues, but another weekend of not hitting the Mega OR the Class 47 here in Michigan. Not so much a bummer, but as I was rifling through some past tickets of last month that I never cashed in, I saw a winner! A Fantasy 5 ticket worth a buck. At least I got my money back on that one, not technically. I was out for hours yesterday with a stack of winning tickets just waiting to be cashed.

But some bright news, a local man in the Wayne County area won the previous big jackpot of 135 million dollars.  David Sneath of Livonia won the big one and according to michigan.gov, he celebrated his 60th birthday. Happy Birthday David and congrats on the big jackpot! He took the lump sum of 84million before taxes and I’m sure he’ll enjoy the rest of his life now. A stand up guy, he even gave his lottery playing friends a million bucks each to boot!

Its always good to see someone local win the Mega Millions here in Michigan, makes me feel like I still do have a chance. That and it lets me know what stores to not play my winners at, since I’ve yet to see a store produce more then 1 super jackpot winner…or just a jackpot winner at all!

Cashing in the winners

I’ve realized that I have dozens of uncashed scratch and win tickets and well, every other ticket I’ve ever purchased the past year. Two have already headed the way of the dumpster and the rest are in limbo. What’s causing me to not cash them in right now? Deep inside me, I just don’t want to hold up a register with all these tickets while the cashier goes through them. What if they run out of money? Not likely. What if I make someone late for work? In the morning maybe. What is a man to do? Luck for me, I don’t fear any of these scenarios. I mainly am just a bit on the forgetful side on where I place the pile of tickets before I’m about to go out. Mainly I’m in a rush to get to work and do shopping before I get home. This week I will cash in all the goods and will tally up what I get.

Warm Spring Time

It’s becoming warmer and warmer here in  Michigan right now and that only means one thing. The urge to play scratch and wins. I really don’t know why, but warm weather just makes me want to walk up to the store to get some exercise and pick up a scratch and win that could change my life forever. And by change my life forever, I mean at least win 10 bucks to put in my gas tank. Which brings me to why I have this odd tendency. With the warmer weather coming about, the gas mileage gets better for everybody. Meaining theres a few extra cents in your pocket adding up every time you drive.

This year, not so much. Gas prices have sky rocketed and the once urge to scratch and win diminishes knowing I don’t have that extra change. Gas is going up to $3.40 a gallon and I feel more and more less inclined to use my method to buy scratch and wins. Which makes me think that the Michigan lottery should have the most useful ticket of all. The Gas Giveaway scratch and win ticket! How great would that be to get a scratch and win ticket that was good towards gas giftcards, or better yet worked in conjunction with the gas stations to redeem any ticket for a set amount of gas to pump into your car. This my friends, would be a great game right now. Will it happen? Of course not, there’s to many hurdles to jump and it would make all stations have to join in to make it work. Best case I can see is write in your favorite station and send it in and wait for it in the mail. Useful, but it’s just not that on demand as scratch and wins are known for in the first place.

I’ve also been playing less and less of Fantasy 5 lately due to just not being able to find that extra buck in my wallet that eventually goes to gas. After looking into it, I’m just not taking any “Me Time” money out anymore! I totally skipped last month and went on from February’s ticket cash. I knew I didn’t spend that much money to begin with. But that concludes another lovely lottery blog by myself. I hope to kick it up and yes FINALLY throw the results of Project Lottery Life as well as drum up some ideas for my next lottery based project.
