The trend continues in the Michigan Raffle sales. The Michigan Millionaire Raffle was first to suffer this by selling out quickly in the first raffle, then declining in speedy sales as the next 2 raffles were ran. The first Super Raffle sold out in less then a week! Now as the 2nd Super Raffle goes on a week there are still 100k tickets left out there. It’s no doubt the tickets will sell out by October 22nd, but it still urges current ticket holders to have so called “ants in their pants”. I’m talking about the anxiety of knowing the drawing will be held October 22nd OR within 10 days of the last sale. Everybody is hoping for a quick sell out so they can see whether or not they won before October 22nd. I know I’m sure as hell anxious to win sooner rather then later!
What are some cons and pros of this raffle?
pros-
- Best odds to win 2 million dollars
- Best odds to win anything!
- Drawing held within 10 days of last ticket being sold
- Guaranteed drawing October 22nd, so maybe the odds will be better? Unless of course they decide to drag it on which I don’t see that happening anyways.
Cons-
- Only a 2% chance of winning anything
- Sales are slowing down fast so the wait will be longer, maybe even the actual draw date of October 22nd
- Tickets cost 50 bucks which is still a lot to pay for a 2% chance to win at least 500 bucks
I still have high hopes about this drawing that I’ll win at least 500 bucks…hopefully.

That’s right! The Michigan Super Raffle is underway. The tickets cost 50 bucks and is the best chance for 2 million dollars around. I had to make a quick stop at the bank today to cash a check and took out some cashage to buy it. I purchased the Super Raffle along with a tried and true Mega Millions ticket. Now begins the dreaming all over until October 22nd or 10 days after the last ticket is sold. I purchased the ticket at around noon and was up to 15k. It seems like a slow start but the rest of the day will let everybody know what the pace is me thinks. Will it go fast like the first one? Or will it go slow like the last millionaire raffle? I think Friday is a good day now for it to sell out.
The millionaire raffle last time took some time to sell out since a lot of people that spent 20 bucks the first 2 times and didn’t win felt that it was a waste of 20 bucks. I myself find it a waste of 20 bucks, hell even 50 bucks! Why do I buy the ticket then? Regardless of the price of the ticket, I just have to throw my name into the hat so to speak. I have the need and the urge to think that I’ll win. I have a strong feeling that this time is my time. THIS TIME is the time I will win something! Whether it’s the low odds of 500 bucks or the big time 2 million dollars! Which of course after lump sum is 1.3 million and after taxes….who knows. I’m guesstimating a safe 700k?
Here’s hoping I win something and everybody else does too!

I’ve been waiting and waiting and WAITING!! For this super raffle to show up and it’s finally here! The small 2 million dollar top prize sure isn’t as big as the current 47 million mega millions jackpot by any means. Then again, the odds to win 2 million are 100 million times better, literally. The odds to win the money from the raffle are to quote the michigan.gov/lottery

It was tough to see people win the jackpot, especially after 4 different people won it. I am a little shocked to read a report of it on abc news website via yahoo. Entitled ” $330 Million dollar jackpot split not so mega”, the story goes on to say how the winners will be depressed because they can’t buy 100+ million dollar houses or 90 some million dollar gulf stream’s or near 100 mill worth of art. After taxes each person is entitled to a lump sum of 48.6 million dollars. I mean seriously what the fuck were they thinking? Are they assuming all jackpot winners are over spending assholes that blow their money like it was nothing? The part that really got me was the suggestion that they at least have 35 million dollars to go to the moon and have 12 million left over. It’s sad to see a news site print this rubbish and assume all winners are morons with their money.
Here’s a news flash. Not 100% of the people that win the lottery are morons with their money. If someone is depressed they only won 48.6 million dollars, then odds are money isn’t what makes them happy. The things that could be done with 48.6 million dollars is incredible!! Anybody in their right mind that’s been working all their lives and are reasonalble people will think even a quarter of that is a God send and will be happy for every last dime! I’m still excited as hell to win anything! I may have only won 3 bucks from that lottery but I’d be happy if I broke even. The old saying goes, If someone gave you 10 dollars and your friend next to you 100 bucks….would you be happy you got at least something or would you be pissed off someone got more then you?
ABC news seems to have stereotyped lottery winners as money hungry idiots that blow through there money like it was no tomorrow and go broke by the time they hit the 3rd year. Has it happened? Of course it has! There’s been documentaries about this kind of thing that look through the lives of people. Well another news flash, every last person in those documentaries are not the only people who have won jackpots. Basing your opinions off a documentary with the bad part of the lottery is just ignorant. I hope ABC news has future lottery stories that aren’t ignorant. After all, they are professionals!
