Michigan Millionaire Raffle`

It’s been a while yes I know but I been putting in a little OT at my temp job and taking care of a little one when I get home is pretty hectic in itself to be able to get online. BUT! There is the Millionaire Raffle thats going on right now and I’m proud to say I got me a ticket, the odds according to Michigans site are:

A 1 in 297 chance of winning for a meer 20 bucks!! High hopes? I sure do! However it is going the slowest I can remember! With 600,000 tickets and about 5 days later, 336,518 tickets still remain to be sold! It’s time to buy those tickets! Why? Because within 7 days of the final ticket being sold they’ll hold the raffle! Or July 31st, whichever comes the fastest. I’m all about that, the not waiting part that is.It’s somethign to get excited about thats for sure and as usual I’ll be waiting to stake claim to my million dollars! If all else fails, I still have my precious mega million tickets to latch onto. The mega million jackpot is now up to 90 million!!! That’s a lot of cashage. If nobody wins the next drawing it’ll pop up to 100 mill and that’s when the state starts running TV ads to promote it which causes and influx of more buyers to purchase it making the pot grow bigger and bigger! ExciteD? I sure am!

My Super Raffle Results and new raffle!! Better !!…kinda

Well the Super Raffle has come and gone folks. I personally didn’t win anything but that’s ok it was worth the odds to try and take a snag at the big one. I was however 1 number away from winning 500 bucks. Can’t complain I guess. I’d like to congratulate all the players out there that played and did win and to all the others that didn’t, fear not another michigan millionaire raffle will soon be coming June 25th!

The original $20 a ticket raffle will be on! What makes this raffle so much better? Well the first 2 Millionaire Raffles and the Super Raffle had 1 thing in common. They sold out within a week and it took nearly 2 months for the drawing. Leaving for a lot of anticipation from the purchaser’s of all those tickets. That pissed me off having to wait that long. The Super Raffle made me think…why in the hell would they do that? Why not sell it a few days or the following Tuesday after  they sold out? Well guess what? That’s almost exactly what will happen!! It’s not for sure exactly when after the tickets sold will be drawn, however this is what the michigan.gov/lottery press release had to say:

The Millionaire Raffle drawing could be conducted as early as within seven days of sell out, but will be no later than Monday, July 30, 2007.

How sweet is that? Almost saying it can be held within a week of sellout. This means that if it sells out in less then a week, it can be two weeks from June 25th that we can find out if we won and no longer have to wait an outrageous amount o f time! This goes great for us lottery players out there that want some instant results!

Spirit of the lottery

Sorry bout the caps. It’s been quite a hellish week due to the internet being down and comcast claiming it was fine. So a few flunked assignments on my online courses and a couple scratch and wins later, here I am posting!

After setting my limit to 10 bucks playing scratch and wins it has been my most successful week ever in terms of the little instant tickets of fun. After spending 1 0 bucks, I’ve won back 6. I’m still 4 in the hole but those are some great odds for a scratch and win player wouldn’t you think? I’ve won them off a cash word as well as a silver and gold card….2 30k bingos and a silver and gold card didn’t make it to the final ground, they just kinda…died off in dust. I’m accumulating quite a collection of scratch and win remains which will be interesting to look over at the end of this project and see just how much money one can spend on tickets just playing casually with 10 bucks a week.

The bigger shock I found out was this blog has been averaging 40 people a day miserably and has now doubled in average to 80 people a day checking this place out. Alright, score! The more awareness about the lottery I can give the happier I am on the inside. Why so happy? Well I’d love to think that people that have any second of hope that their life can change feel good about themselves for just a few moments. Afterall, life is just a bunch of moments stringed together. If a few of them cost a cup a coffee to feel hopeful then that’s a good moment to have. Unless of course your the kind of maniac that just plays to break even, then you have a problem. A gambling problem, but a bigger problem that the whole point about the lottery is lost. Which to me is creating hope and happiness. Corny ya and it may not be true for everybody but the spirit of the lottery to me is:

To have hope in life, not to try and cheat it and use it as a source to live.

It may contradict itself in some ways since the object of playing the lottery is to win the big jackpot. While that is the object of the game there’s just so much more to it. People have to stop and realize that they will most likely never win anything let alone their money back on a mega ball worth 2 bucks. The mega millions is not the ticket to not working. You still have to work hard in life to achieve the true American dream. Counting on the lottery to achieve that is unreal and it could put you in a world of hurt if your spending way more then you can afford to chase the dream. I personally wish to achieve the almighty mega millions jackpot but I’m not sitting at home doing nothing but buying a ticket, sitting and waiting. No. I’m going to school, I’m working full time now as a temp and plan on searching for more work after it’s over and i’m trying to better myself in life and making my money work for me. I spend 2 bucks a week in mega million tickets and 10 bucks in scratch and wins. That’s 12 bucks a week. 12 bucks a week buys me a week of happiness. Not a week of avoiding the bills and living pay check to pay check just so I can afford jsut enough to buy lottery tickets in my grand scheme of striking it rich. If that’s how you are, then you lost what I believe to be the spirit of the lottery.

I’d love to spread the word of the lottery as a real job, I really would. I know it wouldn’t happen but it’d be a great thought. So before you go thinking I’m wasting my money and throwing dollars down the toilet. Answer me this…how much have you spent on coffee this week? or fast food? or movie rentals?

You have your way of entertainment that you enjoy. I have mine. I hate coffee. Fast food makes me sick. Movie rentals are a waste of money when I have a wide variety On Demand and can just wait for them to come to TV. People have their entertainment money and I don’t tell them they are wasting their money because I don’t think they get anything out of it and people say I waste money cause they don’t think I get anything out of it.

10 bucks is the limit!

Whats up with the cable going down?  Comcast is turning out to be not so reliable and there is no other faster service. Reliable? Maybe, but not faster. Take the best with the worst I guess.

I was at work today and to pass the time during my hour lunch, I went to get gas and throw down some cashage on the Super 7s Bingo. Two bucks, got two for 4 bucks. Was it worth it? The fun factor was there for sure, defiantly. The payback wasn’t to be seen. It’s all in the fun though with scratch and wins since it’s about a 1 in 6 shot you’ll even get your money back. Lesson learned? Can’t say that it is and here’s why. I go back to my theory on the budget. Some people go out and spend a couple hundred bucks on going out to dinner every month. Some go buy CDs and DVDs when they come out or they just go out and rent movies. All that costs money for the entertainment. Some value that entertainment as worthwhile while others don’t. On my end I set a budget. Rather I’m now setting an official budget on scratch and wins. My limit? 10 bucks a week. Seem like a lot to throw away right? Look back and see all those coffee’s and quick dollar menu purchases you made last week. Not so much now is it? Some use money for nutrition I use mine for entertainment and the idea to win it back or more while having fun in the mean time.

Call it a waste and I’ll be more then happy to ask you your last couple of purchases and tell you they are a waste as well. And if you only spend your money on rent, cars and what not and are a tight ass. Your lying. Your a liarface. Dirty dirty liarface to say you haven’t spent money on anything other then a car payment or rent. LIAR!!

Back on subject, I spent 4 bucks on scratch and wins this week leaving room for 6 more bucks of scratching action!! Wahoo!! Of course I got the typical mega millions ticket which is now worth 25 million bucks!! A respectable amount of money no doubt. I’ve come to another conclusion on what the money should be good for of course. My immediate family. My mom, dad and brother. Well that’s outside the obvious g/f and son part. Why? Well my outside family I’d maybe toss something their way to call it even for everything they’ve given me their entire life so I personally don’t feel like I owe them anything. After that if they’re still greedy at least I won’t feel bad not giving them anything.

A house and a car is all I can really ask for…..and a huge plot of land with lots of trees of course. Who doesn’t want that? Probably a lot, but I’d love it.  But the good news is nobody won the lottery along with me last Tuesday and tomorrow’s Friday lottery is up to 25 million buckaroo’s!!

Back online!!

The absence has been clearly known due to lack of winning numbers and posting. Why does this happen? Internet has been crap lately and has been out the past few days. Not to mention when numbers are missed it’s internet down as well….well except 1 time, that time I was just kinda lazy and busy. Now that that’s settled, on to the week of the lottery playings I encountered.

I had a good day the other day to start off. Forgot to check out my winning numbers and had some notation that I won the jackpot. And of course the ideas run through my head on how I could now take it easy. To make things better I passed the Michigan Mega Millions sign and realized that the jackpot has been reset to 12 million meaning someone won the 44 million dollar jackpot last Tuesday! I was excited to say the least thinking maybe it was me that won, I could finally retire. This could be the day! Of course when I got home I was no winner and only managed to get 1 white ball number. Better to dream sometimes I guess.

I did happen to get my g/f addicted to scratch and win tickets and with the extra cash on hand we decided to do some luck investigating this week. I bought a 20 dollar Game Book, a 2 dollar bingo and a 5 dollar bingo scratch and win. She loved doing the bingo ones so it was entertaining at least. I was to curious about the game book and stupid me fell into the trap when the cashier handed it to me and said someone won 500 bucks last week there. I could feel the excitement……an hour later I felt jipped. When will I learn. I always have to have a 2nd shot at any scratch and win ticket I buy no matter what if I win or not. A 20 dollar ticket makes it worse though. Its a habit, it’s gone though. No more Game Book for me. But on the other hand the 2 dollar bingo card netted me 4 bucks in win and the 5 dollar bingo netted 5 bucks. So I spent 27 dollars, won 9 dollars and I’m only 18 bucks in the hole this week. Works for me. I’ll be interested in buying another 1 or 3 bingo scratch and win tickets to fight the urge. Very fun and take quite some time. It may be my new favorite type of scratch and win.

In terms of Mega Millions, didn’t win it Tuesday nor did I win it or anything else last night on Friday. Kind of a bummer but the Super Raffle set for a June 18th drawing. Still having plans on how it’s possible to make a living off that money through smart low risk investments while still maintaining a decent life style.
