Game book, Game Over

May 28, 2007

It’s been a good memorial day so far in terms of the lottery hopes. A great place by the name of O’Charley’s that had excellent service as well as excellent food for a decent price. Over in Belleville, Michigan. If you go tell’em I sent ya…and they might look at you funny. But there was a meijer gas station next door and $3.41 a gallon for gas sounded like a great deal. Forget the fact that 3 years ago I would of screamed gas rape at $1.60 a gallon. So I went to get gas and got a mega millions ticket and a 2 for 1 scratch and win that proved to be … a loser. A buck isn’t that bad I guess for a chance to win even though the odds were almost 1 in 6 but they always say something like 1 in 5.9799454507 to make you feel like it’s better then 1 in 6. As we got back on the road my g/f suggested that if we were to spend 20 bucks driving around buying dollar scratch and wins the odds of actually winning would be greater! I always knew I loved her for a good reason. Our first stop was a mobil station where we decided we’d go with 10 $2 tickets instead. I went in and picked up a Silver & Gold ticket as our primary choice ticket.

When I was leaving something caught my eye that i’ve seen before. The almighty $10,000,000 Game Book ticket!! It’s 6 pages of scratch and win tickets in a little booklet for a mere $20. A steep price tag, but after some talking about it I put in an extra 2 bucks and we headed out to another store for the game book. The game book is not any ordinary 20 dollar game ticket but rather a collection of tickets that include:

Cashword: Your crossword game where you get a box of letters then scratch out the matching one’s in the crossword puzzle.

Blackout Bingo: Regular bingo, scratch off your box of numbers and match them with the 5 bingo cards.

Lucky Lines: Box of symbols that you gotta match up with the lines next to it to win said prize

Winner’s Circle: Scratch of numbers and then match them with a pie chart. There’s 3 circles inside as well as wedges of the pie chart. Match a circle or wedge and win money.

Winning Combination: Scratch off secret numbers and match 4 on a single lock to win prize below lock.

Mountains of Money: Scratch of letters and line up in a pyramid of lines to win prize:

Cashword Doubler: Same as cash word but with a chance to double prize if a word has a star in it

Variety Bingo: Same as regular bingo but each card has a shape that you can match up in addition to regular ways to win for a chance to win.

Those are all the games included in a nutshell. Are they all the same game book with same games? I don’t really know and I’m not sure if I want to find out other then asking the cashier what games are in the book which in reality I don’t think they could unless they were to rip it off then look inside leaving them with a single game book floating around. It was all fun though to play the scratch and win games. Was it worth the 20 bucks? It’s hard to say. On one hand, we had fun playing it and spent about an hour I’d say? Taking our good ole time scratching and rechecking to see if we did win anything. But on the next hand, we didn’t win a thing and spent 20 bucks on a scratch and win. It’s a toss up on the whole risk vs reward factor on whether it was worth it. If for some reason I feel lucky I MIGHT try 1 more due to the fact I have some money rolling it but I may just pass it up. What will I do? Not sure, but if I finally win that Super Raffle I know a lot of scratch and win tickets will be purchased.

Numbers for May 25th

May 26, 2007

On a cold wet Saturday morning, or should I say wet soon to be muggy and stick Saturday midmorning. Woke up to about 4 hours of sleep to take my g/f to work only to see the usual lottery billboard proclaim the jackpot has gone up since last night. Which can only mean one thing I didn’t win the lottery but nobody else did either. That’s a good thing for me and everybody else since the new jackpot is a nice chunk at 44 million. A fairly decent retirement to look forward too me thinks.

Lottery Works

May 24, 2007

Whats lottery works mean? Nothing in particular,it’s just the first thing that came to mind when I wrote this blog. It’s been quite busy working my temp job and taking care of the baby off of work while my g/f is going to school all the while taking online courses currently for my degree. Lots of stuff to do in my life and haven’t been able to get online as much as I’d like. OK, in a way thats a lie since I’m taking online courses, but I haven’t had the time to get online and do what I actually want to do like research lottery stuff as well as research design. Busy busy but my true passion of lottery never ends.

Even when I’m at work I tend to open up my wallet and look at the current lottery ticket in hopes that this will hopefully go from being worth $1 to millions rather then Zero. It usually ends up in zero. I’m still hoping though! May 22nd’s ticket held no positive results to it’s 25 million dollar grand prize. But that’s fine with me like always, since the pot is now at 34 for tomorrow’s jackpot! So everything is going just fine right now.

Life’s doing great, I’m getting a stable paycheck for the next 3 months and after August I’ll be free to do as I please.  If anybody out there has projects they’re looking forward to do and are interested in having my two cents then drop me a line……and the crickets blare. Guess it’s best not to whore out my non lottery life. But in all honesty I’d love to do something with the lottery in my life. I’d love to be the guy everybody wants to get to know or talk to about the lottery. I usually drag up the subject of the lottery at one point or another with all friends and co-workers I’m with at the time. Why do I do it? I guess I just love it that much. I think everybody should play the lottery.  Unfortunately a lot of people have more then logical reasons not too. Sure it’s a risk, sure you probably won’t get any money back.

Thats why this blog was invented. Sure you can go back to the beginning on to why I started this blog but I’ll repeat it here. This is called Project Lottery Life. As stated in the header I’m sure everybody see’s when they read a post. The whole point of Project Lottery Life is to spend 1 entire year buying a mega millions ticket at every drawing and show whether or not it’s actually worth playing the lottery. My plan was to then pile all the fun juicy blog posts along with thoughts about the projects plus a whole bunch of fun stats and make a book out of it. Hopefully I’ll get some recognition by the media and people will know whether or not it might actually be worth it for the average person to play the lottery. I am currently in talks with someone, but I will not give any further info on the subject until something happens. Either way, I’m pumped. There’s nothing more I’d love to do then share my excitement of the lottery on a large basis. If anything, I’ll hope to be on the news for a short segment about the lottery after this project is done.

To cover the bases.

No, I never won the lottery nor have I ever claimed to have won the lottery. I just love the idea of winning the lottery.

No, I will not buy you anything if I won the lottery. I’m sure if I commented on your blog asking for lottery money, you’d say No as well.

No, I do not care about your website plug. If I like it, i’ll let the comment slide by but I’m not plugging stuff I don’t fully endorse or like.

However if you would like to talk to me about the lottery then I am all for it.

The numbers for May 18th

May 19, 2007

Still haven’t won that big one ye! But I’m still in high spirits for the weekend as yesterday was the 1 month anniversary until the Super Raffle will be drawn!! Excitement is in the air! More and more changes to what I would do are occurring. I currently have a temp job ending around August and I for sure will be staying with that job to the end. After that? I’ll be finishing up my Bachelors degree and living in style at the same time playing with my son. In the mean time on planet real world, I’ll be working the Temp and looking for the next temp job while taking up classes in my spare time to inch closer to my degree.

Best odds to win the Michigan Mega Millions

May 16, 2007

OK, there is no real method, reason or even sense about my theory….ok there is SOME method, reason or sense about my theory on the best odds to win the Michigan Mega Millions. Not a whole lot, but enough that it kinda makes sense to follow it. So here’s my theory that I am going to give out to you guys to win the Michigan Mega Millions here in Michigan.

First off, there haven’t been many mega million ticket winners sold her in Michigan. It sucks, I know but the odds are the same here as they are in any other state holding the drawing. But the main thing I noticed is that the majority of anything won is at some liquor story/party store/corner store around the way from your house somewhere. Not the name brand gas station, not the major retail chains that sell lottery tickets on the side, but rather your local party store.  My favorite party store of choice? No other then Zmart around the way from where I live. How to get there? Take I275  West on Eureka, make a right onto huron river drive and drive about a mile or two and it’s on your left. If your on I94, take it to I275 South then Eureka west. Go there and tell’em Cliff sent ya from this blog. lottoman.wordpres.com

I’ve gone there since forever and it’s my main source of buying lottery tickets. I go here and there, but when the jackpots big and I have a lot of time on my hands I always hit up Zmart for a ticket then drive around looking for a random liquor store for a ticket. Always gotta have my Zmart ticket for a backup unless its just a small lottery, then it’s wherever I’m filling up for gas at the time.

So now to the numbers. Nobody won the 12 million dollar minimum pot so it’s up to 17 million now! That’s a lot of cash for anybody for just a mere buck.

Happy Mothers Day

May 13, 2007

This is a thank you to all you mom’s out there. You know who you are! If your still looking for last minute gift ideas for your mom then look no further then your nearest gas station or liquor store. That’s right, buy her a chance to win millions with a mega millions ticket! Fancy some instant satisfaction? Then buy her a scratch and win ticket and you can all enjoy the winnings together! Well, you can enjoy her smile on the winnings. So buy lottery!

Another Super Raffle Saturday

May 12, 2007

While there is nothing in particular that makes this Saturday have anything to do with the Super Raffle, I took a nice quick look at the ticket and the possibilities it can hold. Just like every other lottery ticket, it’s like a little instant expensive piece of paper. What originally was worth 50 bucks can either be worth nothing or 2 million dollars in a beat of a second as the number on the ticket matches that off the machine/computer whatever does the super raffle drawing. Most people call it a waste of money, but it’s all in how you look at it. Some people waste money on going out to eat, some people waste money on buying clothes, some people waste money on expensive things that they don’t even need or can afford. Add that up, and 50 bucks is nothing compared to the amount of money people waste in a week on useless crap. It’s laughable really. I can add up every last dollar I spent on the lottery this year and it won’t even come close to the amount of useless drinks, food, take out, electronics, yadda yadda that people spend.

The same people that say I’m busy wasting my money on something I’m not going to win. Say all they want, but I’ll be spending less and have at least a small chance on winning something. Only thing the naysayers will get from all that is a big bill, the shits and hopefully food poisoning.

So buy those lattes in the morning.

Don’t pack a lunch, buy one at mcdonalds.

Go to the vending machine for a drink instead of putting one in the fridge.

Go out and buy that dinner on the weekend.

While you go out and buy all that, I’ll sit here and not. I’ll sit here and have a chance for that big jackpot. I’ll remember to make sure of all you people when I win it too. Maybe I’ll meet you in line at the fast food places one day and I can ask how works treating ya.

The numbers for May 8th

May 9, 2007

Nothing important to talk about here other then I finally got my Super Raffle ticket!! Wahoo!! It wasn’t as hard to throw down 50 bucks as it was 140 for the millionaire raffle, but I did it nonetheless. When I went to throw down the cashage I was in a good mood. I even let someone in the door before me cause I felt generous. Of course that someone decided to buy about 40 some lottery tickets that she hand written out and the clerk had to type in. I think my g/f was about to drop down and go nuts over my generosity. Saying it’s a bad omen that this is happening and God is giving me time to back out. When I think of it that way, I also think of the road harder traveled will bring good fortune. Or something of the like, anything that puts me in good hopes of winning the Super Raffle!

The best thing about the mega millions is that nobody won it!! Now the jackpot is over 100 mill at 112 mill! That means more people will want to spend that extra dollar for a chance to win over 100 million. But enough of that, here’s the numbers!

Super Raffle begins today

May 7, 2007

Has anybody jumped at their opportunity to win 2 million dollars? If your not sure what I’m talking about then you must have just searched Super Raffle and haven’t read my other blog posts yet. I’m talking about the latest raffle Michigan is hosting to have some of the best odds to win the raffle! To make it short, here are the odds to win:

2 prizes of $2,000,000 (annuitized over 20 years or $1,300,000 cash: odds -  1 in 125,000

25 prizes of $100,000: odds 1 in 10,000

4,5000 prizes of $500: odds 1 in 56

I love all those odds don’t you? I’ll be picking up my ticket when I pick up my g/f from work. I’m confident there will still be tickets for sale less then 12 hours into the raffle.  I will be picking up my winning ticket then and will be showing all my confidence and flaunting the money shortly after the drawing! Ok, I won’t since I’m not that cocky around the money. In fact, who can really be cocky with only 2 million? The biggest near 400 mill jackpot can throw out some cockiness because it’s the biggest mega millions jackpot and has some prestige, but nobody should be walking around cocky with 2 million. Odds are if your cocky, its already assumed you got the cash out option at 1.3 mill. After the 40% possible highest tax take out, your rocking out with only 780,000. How can you be cocky with that? If your jackpot total cash is less then the most expensive house in the state, then you have no liability to be cocky. If your jackpot is less then what a wall street investor makes in a year, then you can’t be cocky. I made up that last one, who knows how much they make. But onto the point about how much i’m going to win and what I am going to buy with that 1.3 mill cash out. After all, the cash out is needed with the rate of inflation going on nowadays.

1.) New House valued at 250-300k on lots of land, or buy good land and build house on it
2.) New Car

3.) Pool with tons of squirt guns and pool toys. Deck of course with hottub

4.) Invest, Invest, Invest

With the right amount of thinking, one can possibly retire on all that money. If you can’t, the maybe your playing life just a little to big.

Anticipation Rises along with lottery site refinished!

May 5, 2007

It’s only Saturday and it feels like it’s Christmas Eve. Whys that? The Super Raffle, that’s why. I’m all caught up in the craze! It hit me even harder today when I went in to buy my Mega Millions ticket while I stopped to get some o so expensive gas. There it was, the sign boasting the 2 million dollar prize! In all it’s glory to the point where I just had to ask the cashier when it starts and then shoot the shit a little with him about how I plan on winning it. Of course I know when it starts, but I’m like a little kid right now talking about his favorite toy over and over and over. Even though nobody really cares what I’m talking about or the fact everybody has heard it 2 million times….ok small bad pun I threw in there. The point is, I’m highly anticipating the release of the Super Raffle and have very high hopes of at least winning $500. If I win that, then i’ll make more then enough to pay for all of this years losses along with mega million tickets for the rest of the year!! At best, I’ll have enough for a couple other millionaire or super raffles to boot along with a ton of scratch and wins as they come out. Will I use the 500 for my lottery fund? As in, keep an up to date record of what I spent and I can only spend it with the 500 bucks? Maybe I will.

On another note when I was checking out michigan.gov.lottery I noticed they did a new redesign of the site!! It’s great! Well compared to the last basic looking one where you had to click the individual games to find the numbers. This new interface shows all the latest numbers for all the games and has a nice header that overall gives the feeling your in a casino style environment. The glitz and glamor are there for the viewing to greet the viewer with a nice feeling. Needless to say, they posted the wrong numbers!! They posted the numbers that they drew, not the numbers that I have. Bah, O well, I guess complaining won’t really help.
